Senior People (Human Resources) Assistant

The Role

The Sr People Assistant is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides Human Resources support to our People and teams.  The role is critical in executing and supporting our people initiatives, providing exceptional staff support, and driving People/HR functional excellence with a focus on process improvements.

Some Key Responsibilities 

Successful candidates will be responsible for providing and facilitating an exceptional staff experience including:

  • Ensure timely data input and data integrity in HRIS systems.
  • Daily activities such as entering new employees, issuing time cards, and updating employee information, Benefits Enrollments, Payroll, etc.
  • Provide frequent customer service regarding payroll, benefits, scheduling, etc to associates as needed.
  • Assist with benefits, orientation, training and other inquiries.
  • Assist as necessary with new hire orientations, interviews, calendar management and coordination
  • Conduct administration portion of new-hire orientation for managers as needed.
  • Liaison with staff, volunteers, and others on a wide variety of topics
  •  Maintain several spreadsheets related to workers compensation, LOA, etc.
  • Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

Typical Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications include: 

  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, Access and or Google Suite preferred
  • Previous experience with Payroll Systems, HRIS helpful
  • 2+ years’ exposure to the people/human resources functions ideal
  • Customer Service mindset with commitment to ensure outstanding staff experience
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship 
  • Human Resources training and experience helpful.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills: must display patience, humor and helpfulness at all times – front line contact for employee issues.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills: accuracy is essential.
